Lara Balint, children's author
About the Author

Lara Balint

Lara Balint is a children's book author and grandmother of two from Alberta, Canada. For most of her adult life, Lara dreamed of writing children's books, but it was her grandchildren who gave her the courage to finally bring her stories to life. The tales she once told them at bedtime have now become books that families everywhere can share and treasure.

Lara's stories are crafted with gentle kindness and focus on teaching important life skills and family values. She has a special gift for tackling topics that can be hard for parents to discuss with young children, making difficult conversations easier through the power of storytelling. Her books are written for children ages 3–7, during those formative years when values and character are taking root.

Drawing inspiration from her work as a tow truck dispatcher, Lara created the beloved Toby the Tow Truck series, proving that stories can be found in the most unexpected places. She writes multiple series, each designed to help young readers navigate their world with confidence, compassion, and understanding.

When she's not writing or working, Lara can be found spending time with her grandchildren, the two people who started it all.
